Daggubati Family Unite to Make a Film
It seems to be the season of multi-starrers in Tollywood. Joining the
Akkinenis and the Manchus in churning out big-ticket entertainers
starring members of their own families is the Daggubati clan, whose home
banner of Suresh Productions turns a landmark 50 next year. The buzz is that the family plans to commemorate the Golden Jubilee year by making a film
starring Venkatesh, Rana and Naga Chaitanya with Daggubati patriarch D.
Ramanaidu. The film is likely to be produced by Suresh Babu.
A source close to production house spills the beans,
“We’re planning a movie with all our four stars to commemorate the 50th
anniversary of our production house. But discussions are still on and
nothing has been finalised yet.”
On being approached to verify the news, Suresh Babu says, “Nothing has been fixed yet. We’re looking for a good story.”
His father Ramanaidu adds, “The idea of sharing screen space with my family
has been my lifetime ambition. If anyone has a good story that balances
all of us, they are free to approach us. Right now, it’s too early to
talk about who will direct the film.”
A Guinness record holder, Suresh Productions made its debut in 1964 with
the NTR-starrer Ramudu Bheemudu. Over the years, it has produced over
135 films in 15 languages.
